The modern Guatemala City, founded in 1777. It is the fourth city in the Guatemalan history. We will see the museum of anthropology and ethnography near to airport. Here you will find some of most exquisite pieces of the all archeological sites of the Petén area.

The Pacaya is by far the most popular volcano to climb in Guatemala, and not without reason. The volcano is easy to climb and provides the opportunity to climb an active volcano. On clear days you can see the volcanoes of Agua, 

Day 1. GUATEMALA CITY – ANTIGUA GUATEMALA
Pick up in Guatemala City International Airport “La Aurora”, when you get to Guatemala you will get a tour. The modern Guatemala City, founded in 1777. Day 2. PACAYA VOLCANO
The Pacaya is by far the most popular volcano to climb in Guatemala, and not without reason. The volcano is easy to climb and provides the opportunity to climb an active volcano. On clear days you can see the volcanoes of Agua, Fuego and Acatenango. / PRIVATE HALF DAY TOUR

Day 3. ANTIGUA – COPAN / HONDURAS
At the time you want in private ground transportation to COPAN , in HONDURAS . Definitely culturally one of the most amazing Mayan sites. Guided tour in the afternoon with specialized and certified professional guide of the site .

Day 4. COPAN – RIO DULCE
Private transportation from Copan to Rio Dulce after visiting the sepultures or/and the MACAW bird park / hot springs . There is eventually also time for horseback riding. /not included .
On the way we make a stop in Quirigua that is an ancient Maya archaeological site in the department of Izabal in south-eastern Guatemala. It is a medium-sized site covering approximately 3 square kilometers (1.2 sq mi) along the lower Montague River, with the ceremonial center about 1 km (0.6 mi) from the north bank.

Day 5. RIO DULCE – FLORES ISLAND
Free morning in Rio Dulce, where you can take a boat tour into the river and go to visit San Felipe Castle: an old Spanish fortress located at the border of the river and the lake.
In the afternoon private transportation to Flores Island.

Day 6. TIKAL NATIONAL PARK
Full day tour to Tikal National Park, guided private tour into the ruins visiting the main Plaza with all its famous constructions, and other ruin complex. Includes: entrance fees, and lunch inside the park.
Free afternoon in Tikal, you are free to go inside by yourself

Day 7. TIKAL NATIONAL PARK – SEMUC CHAMPEY
Private transportation from Tikal National Park to Semuc Champey, Semuc Champey is the most beautiful natural surroundings of Guatemala. The tour start with a visit to Semuc Champey, famed for its great natural limestone bridge (300m long) thought this bit of paradise, the beauty of its setting and the perfection of the pools, ranging from turquoise to emerald-green, make it worth it.

Day 8. SEMUC CHAMPEY – ANTIGUA GUATEMALA
Free Morning in Semuc Champey and tour to the Caves of Lanquin; this caves are really interesting to explore are located on the base of the Cahabon River. In the afternoon private transportation to Antigua Guatemala.

Day 9. FREE DAY IN ANTIGUA
Strongly recommended , see also day 2 – NOT included and to decide the day before

  1. PACAYA , active volcano
  2. Day trip in PRIVATE transport to the LAKE ATITLAN or CHICHICASTENANGO in case there would be a market on / only on Sunday and Thursday )
  3. Visit of the ruins of IXIMCHE and the very special Mayan God MAXIMON in the village of SAN ANDRES IZTAPA
